Our retreat takes place in a traditional house nestled between the mountains and the sea, encased by the aura of a nearby flower temple. Our retreat home is constructed from Hinoki wood, decorated with dried flowers, antique furniture and tatami floors. Here, we will sip seasonal tea, grind beans for pour over coffee, share homestyle Japanese breakfast, read, journal and sleep on futon beneath the ocean breeze.
This is a cultural immersion retreat. Together, we will visit old Japan and discover treasures from the past, uncovering messages and stories for our present.
A Solstice Japanese Dream

In a secluded forest along a mountain stream exists a hidden sanctuary in the form of a traditional japanese inn - it’s an image straight out of a dream.
Early Summer in Kurokawa onsen is a special and potent time. it is season of celebration, abundance and creativity. The fertility of the natural world pours in through every window, covering the outdoor onsen baths in a gently waving ceiling of bright green leaves.
